Tattoo Shops on Long Island

Thanks to Tattoo Lou’s and the New York Islanders, you can now pick up a tattoo while also shopping for memorabilia and merchandise. Tattoo Lou’s has set up shop in the Nassau Coliseum, providing permanent and temporary tattoos to fans while the action is actually happening. However, Long Island has many tattoo parlors to offer.

Across the street from Nassau Coliseum is Skin Deep, a tattoo parlor that suggests, “Good tattoos aren’t cheap and cheap tattoos aren’t good.”
Skin Deep works with their clients to ensure affordable artwork while enjoying d what you get inked . The artists guarantee precision and detail for pieces ranging from memorabilia to astrological signs, as many have been practicing their artistic skills for many years. All the artists participate in drawing workshops in order learn new techniques.

If you think the only place to get a tattoo at an Islanders game, think again. You can find a reliable tattoo place by even looking right across Hempstead Turnpike.

Hofstra Basketball starts with a slam dunk

The Hofstra Pride Basketball Team opened up their 2011-12 campaign this past Saturday as they took on the Queens College Knights. However, the fans’ packing the Mack were of much more importance than the action on the court. Pride mascots Kate and Willie were in attendance to cheer on the home team. “It’s great to be back home” said senior Carissa Allen. “I know it’s preseason but it’s still good to be back because it’s always a fun experience.”

Carissa sat in the Hofstra student section known as the Lion’s Den, which is famous for trying to distract the blue and gold’s opponent. Hofstra cheerleaders and dance team were on hand tossing t-shirts as well as trying to rile up the Pride faithful. “There’s a reason why this game was free”, head coach Mo Cassara said after the game. “No matter what the score was, I wanted to get the most fans and show them what our team is all about. With less than a week till the season opens, we want to have the most fans and supporters as possible.” The Pride officially open up their season this Friday, November 11th as they take on the Long Island University Blackbirds.
